Can we just discuss that autumn is over?

I did not get to spend nearly enough time outside this last month, so I am really glad we got outside early on while spending a weekend camping with my in-laws. We spent 48 perfect-weather hours at Governor Dodge State Park at the end of September, and this time we got to hike the Pine Cliff trail without being carted off by bugs or getting lost.

One of my favorite moments of the weekend was capturing these chipmunks running back and forth as they harvested their winter stores. They worked so hard, wrestled like siblings, and were so entertaining!

It was a truly lovely weekend sitting around a campfire and enjoying Creation, even for this gal who is not really a camper.

Who knows: maybe I’ll convince myself to like it someday.

What’s your favorite memory looking back at this last month? Any neat moments to share while the leaves were changing?
